About

Lace Franklin (she/they) is a transfemme writer/artist.

Lace’s work is primarily concered with reducing the artist to nothing—in the same way the sky blank renders one’s gaze.

When I feel the heat on my skin (mediated by the sky) I remember the vivid intensity of the sun’s light and I see beauty through my skin by the sky. It is in this sense that sweat is an expression of the heavens. It is in this sense my head can be beat into a pulp. It is in this sense that in heat exhuastion something primal is expressed (mediated by the sky).

Art, writing, philosophy, etc., are doomed from the outset to be nested within life, and thus are only capable of being an expression of it. It is in this sense that Lace is incapable of escaping the sky’s influence. It is in this sense Lace is nothing.
